How camera fines work
Real notices come from GPS-MTTD
An Electronic Notice of Violation arrives by SMS from the sender ID GPS-MTTD. It shows a ticket number, location, date and time, your registration, the offence, the amount and the deadline. It does not contain a payment link.

14 days to pay or contest
After 14 days, 1% of the fine is added for each extra day. Unpaid fines block DVLA licence renewal, registration, transfer and roadworthy until they are cleared.

See the evidence first
Enter your ticket number on the official NIB portal to view the photo or video before you pay. Paying settles the case, so you cannot contest after paying.

Contest online within 14 days
Start a contest on the NIB portal, choose an MTTD regional station and a date. Bring your notice reference and ID. Contests cannot be started at MTTD or court offices.
