Who we are
Traffic GH is an independent road-safety app for drivers in Ghana, published by Binary Data Technology. Traffic GH is an independent app and website. It is not affiliated with the Ghana Police Service, MTTD, TRAFFITECH-GH, DVLA, NIB or NIC.
What we collect
- Account details you give us: name and email.
- Vehicle details you enter: registration, make, model, year and document expiry dates.
- Fine-deadline reminders you choose to record: notice date, ticket number and amount.
- Your precise location, only while the map or driving mode is open, to show your position, speed, the speed limit and alerts. It is not stored and is not used in the background.
- Road reports you choose to share (speed camera, police presence, accident, hazard or speed-limit sign): the type, place and time, linked to your account so each person can confirm a report only once. Other drivers see the report, never who made it.
- Basic crash and usage data to keep the app reliable, when enabled.
What stays on your phone
- The message fraud check runs entirely on your phone. Messages you paste are not saved or sent.
- The app reads your clipboard only when you tap Paste.
- Reminders are scheduled by your phone.
- Quiz scores and checklist ticks stay on your phone.
How we use and share data
To run the service: show your vehicles, reminders and nearby road reports. We do not sell personal data and we do not collect card or mobile money details. Data is stored in Google Cloud (Firebase) with access limited to your account and encryption in transit. Map tiles come from OpenFreeMap and road data from OpenStreetMap; your location is not sent to them, only the map area being shown.
Advertising and cookies
The free Traffic GH website shows ads from Google AdSense, and the app may show ads from Google AdMob. Google and its partners use cookies and device identifiers to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ad Settings, and read how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Ads are never shown on driving, emergency or scam-check screens. The Traffic GH website itself sets no cookies of its own.
Your rights
You can edit or delete any vehicle or reminder, turn reminders off, and delete your account and all of its data in the app (More › Delete account and data) or by following these steps. You may ask for a copy of your data or corrections through the support page. You can also contact Ghana’s Data Protection Commission.
Children
Traffic GH is intended for drivers and is not directed at children under 13.
